The Wooly Block Adventure is back! This year’s theme is Front Porch Holidays and the holiday I chose for the stitchers is National Sewing Day! My Woolie porch has an antique sewing machine adorned with a pretty topiary tree. National Sewing Day is in June each year. What better summer decor than a flag! The door has a cute little garden flag celebrating National Sewing Day! Don’t be intimidated- because you can stitch the flags with ease…just a few lazy Daisy flowers and stem stitch letters. (You could even print it on cotton if you want to do it quick and then just stitch the flowers.)
The fabric kit will contain the homespun background and woolens used on the block. It also contains preprinted Transfer Eze for both the National Sewing Day writing and the iron decor over the door. This will make stitching these parts so easy. When the stitching is done, rinse the transfer paper off in cold water. Voila’! The fabric kit is priced at $24.99 and includes the printed pattern. If you prefer fusing, you can still use these templates- the fusible goes on the back, the freezer paper templates goes on the front! NO tracing needed! A thread kit containing Valdani and Sulky threads specially chosen to work with these beautiful woolens is available for $22.90 . As an add on, we are offering Missie's Tracing Tool for Scallops, Petals and Leaves for $18. If you order this along with the pattern you will receive instructions on how to use it for this block. Notice the photo with the scalloped border added as well as the mock up quilt I've made using the tracing tool and the blocks released so far to make the scalloped background. Add a piece of teal wool from the list above to use for this border and backing should you choose to finish it this way. This would be a darling way to finish the blocks from this group project as a quilt! Add the scalloped border to the blocks, then applique' the blocks with the border to a cotton background to use in a quilt. Get creative with your setting! Imagine the look with all the blocks from this event! This is an acrylic tool to help you draw perfect scallops and other shapes quickly.
