Old Glory Under His Wings Pre-Sale

Old Glory Under His Wings center block is one of my classes for the 2027 Academy of Applique.  See AcademyofApplique.com for more details about the wonderful hand applique' event. 

I usually only pattern my own designs, but my friend, Julee Prose designed this special quilt and asked me to pattern it, so this is an exception to what I offer!  This quilt is inspired by the style of Baltimore Album quilts of the past as well as the 13 colonies of our country’s beginning, the symbolism of the eagles, flags, stars and other motifs.  Embroidery that’s found on many Baltimore Album quilts is included as well.   It's stunning indeed! 

This 30" block is the center of the larger quilt.  The lab kit is $28 and includes the pattern, pre-printed templates on our Ultimate Freezer Paper, a few needles and the ability to try the threads I love before you buy.  This block pattern is only available to those attending my class.  If you are in the class and know you want to purchase the large quilt pattern, add it to your cart along with the lab kit and I will discount it by refunding $8 at check out.  If you are not in the class you may pre-order the full pattern now and it will be shipped next March after the event. The pattern for the quilt is available in several forms.  Reach out with any questions as I know this is confusing.  Due to the cost, I'm trying to accommodate everyone's budget as best as possible.

1.  Instructions and full size diagrams only for $90.  You will need to trace and label your own templates for this option.  There are 65 pages of templates.  You may need to reverse the shapes depending on your applique method.  

2.  Instructions, full size diagrams and master template (reversed) pages for all shapes on plain paper for $140.  

3.  Instructions, full size diagrams and reversed template pages on doubled Ultimate Freezer Paper ready to cut out and begin (no master template pages) for $185.

4.  Instructions, full size diagrams, master template (reversed) pages and Ultimate Freezer Paper templates (reversed) doubled and ready to cut.  $235

**For those who have never used my method, I use the prepared edge method of applique.  This is where you have the freezer paper templates that are reversed and paint the seam allowances with starch, then iron the seams around the templates to set the shapes.  See my video in the video section for a basic explanation of this.  The video is for EPP, but the technique is the same for applique.  For this method you will need to have all shapes reversed so that is how I do my patterns.  If you choose to do needleturn method, you can choose the $90 pattern and trace your shapes from the full size templates.    

The fabric kit for class is $155 and includes 80 fabrics.  You will have leftovers to use on the rest of the blocks in the quilt or to add a border of your choice to this one block if you decide that all you'll be making. The fabrics in the kit are shown in the block image but contact me if you'd like a different tone of background. Kits for the large quilt will be added here soon.  Extra background fabric is available for $13.50- $22 (wide back).  Variety of fabrics in a quilt is what make a quilt so very beautiful!  I did my best to reproduce the original quilt with this fabric kit.  Thread kits are $62 and contain 9 spools of 82 and 100 weight poly thread and 4 balls of embroidery thread.

If you are IN my class you do NOT need to purchase a pattern for the block separately as they come in the required lab kit.  If you want the large quilt pattern, add it to your cart along WITH the lab kit and I will discount by refunding $14 at check out. If you are NOT in my class please do not choose the lab kit.  A cost for a fabric kit for large kit coming soon.

**If you are not attending the class the order will be sent after the event about March 8th.  For anything you want now, please make a separate order from these items.
